WELCOME TO LJ CROSS PLUMBING
We are dedicated to making a mark on the Austin marketplace by operating under one philosophy, all the time- each and every client is the most important facet of our business. From the smallest service job to the largest commercial project, LJ Cross Plumbing is committed to exceeding our customers’ expectations in a cost-driven and time-effective manner, while maintaining the high workmanship standards for which we are known.
We understand that the continued growth and development of our company is directly attributed to the decisions and actions of each and every employee. The same passion that fuels our success can be found throughout all levels of our organization. Founding member, Luke Cross, brings his years of success with one of Austin’s largest and finest commercial subcontractors to this organization. Beginning his career as a first year apprentice, then working his way through all the field positions, he gained the skills and earned the experience to match his responsibilities in management and supervision. After budgeting, designing/detailing, and managing some of the most challenging plumbing projects the industry can offer, Luke Cross is unsurpassed in his skills and experience. His intense desire and commitment to be the best in the industry is continually instilled in his team of professionals. Luke is seen by his employees as a valuable team player as well as a team leader. This way, his robust leadership values are able to ignite motivation in his team, and the motivation for continuous improvement cycles back around to him from his team.
It is important to the LJ Cross Plumbing team that we focus on all jobs as they are entrusted to us and not merely “given” or “awarded.” We understand that we can be a large contributor to the overall success of our clients’ projects. They rely on us to provide a quality finished product in a timely, cost-effective manner. Moreover, by awarding us a contract, our clients have entrusted us to uphold their reputation to deliver a quality finished product to the end buyer. It is of the utmost importance that we conduct our business in a way that we are worthy of the confidence that has been entrusted to us by our clients. Simply put, our team is repeatedly reminded of our obligation to “DO WHAT WE SAY WE ARE GOING TO DO.” This is absolutely imperative,” NO MATTER WHAT.”
We recognize that our success, as a company, is dependent on the success of our clients on each project. The success of each project is largely contingent on a cooperative, coordinated effort between the general, all the trade subcontractors, and all the material and equipment providers thereof. Because of this, it is our priority and obligation to operate in a way that facilitates the success of all members of the construction team. Thus, it is also our priority to maintain close, long-term relationships with our clients, vendors, subcontractors, and employees. We are interested in doing business with you for the “long-haul,” not just one time!
· TEAMWORK AND PARTNERING
As we view every project as a cooperative effort toward a common goal, we pride ourselves in our ability to coordinate with other trades during preconstruction, and arrive onsite ready to work with the entire construction team. Our team members and supervision are reminded of the importance to arrive onsite with solutions, not problems.
We understand the importance of allocating enough resources to the front end of a job, to ensure there are “no surprises” once the contract is awarded. It is important to us that we first obtain the adequate/proper design foundation and accurately develop a clearly-defined scope. Then we can derive the associated costs, prioritize the client’s needs, and assist with any value-conscious design decisions, if necessary. We are also conscious of any LEED scoring decisions and are happy to provide suggestions and assistance, if desired.
As previously mentioned, we pride ourselves in our ability to coordinate with other trades, and in today’s new paradigm of construction, the ability to effectively coordinate our components has become absolutely imperative. With overhead space seemingly more limited than ever before, we quickly integrate ourselves with the design/detailing process as early as possible. Our early design-detail approach allows us to quickly obtain a workable foundation for shop drawings, which are continuously revised and updated as the job progresses. Each revision of the shop drawings is then reviewed and evaluated from the field perspective with regard to sequence of installation and accessibility to the allocated space.
Safety regulations and guidelines should be well-known and understood by any experienced player in this industry, but we have adopted our own approach to ensuring that those guidelines are responsibly embraced by every individual of our organization. Each employee is not only counseled on what our safety policies are, but why they must be followed and what benefits and merits they achieve by following them. Then, each employee is made personally responsible for safety and disregard for the policies is simply not tolerated.
· POST CONSTRUCTION
After each project is complete, we focus intently on our duty to respond quickly to warranty calls with a “no questions asked” approach to all calls. Our duty and objective is to immediately take ownership of the issue so that it can quickly be resolved. Responsibility and deliberation with regard to the cause of the issue will always take a lower priority. We understand that our attentiveness to warranty calls can serve to positively reflect on our clients’ reputation, which is of the utmost importance to us.
We hope you will consider us for your next project. No matter what the job, we are interested in satisfying –and exceeding- your plumbing requirements. Thank you for taking the time to read about us.
